Dr Abdul Samad Theke Ellath is a highly skilled Consultant in Neonatology with 13 years of medical experience. He earned his MBBS degree from Kerala University, Thiruvananthapuram, followed by an MD in Paediatrics from Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur. Further advancing his expertise, he completed a DM in Neonatology at The Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

Dr Abdul Samad Theke Ellath has gained extensive experience across various esteemed institutions throughout his career. His professional journey includes completing an internship at Government T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha, followed by a role as a Junior Resident in Pediatrics at Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute (JMMC & RI), Thrissur. He then served as a Consultant Paediatrician at CWC Mission Hospital, Malappuram, and advanced to the position of Senior Resident in Neonatology at Institute Of Child Health and Hospital for Children (ICH & HC), Chennai. Dr Samad further contributed as an Assistant Professor and Consultant Neonatology at both JMMC & RI, Thrissur, and KMCT Medical College, Kozhikode. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Specialist in Neonatology at the Maternity Hospital in Kuwait.

Dr Samad’s expertise in advanced neonatal ventilation, neonatal infections, critical care of newborn babies, management of extreme preterms, neurodevelopmental follow up, developmental supportive care, perinatal care is reflected in his clinical practice and research. He has authored several significant publications in renowned journals, including studies on scrub typhus in newborns, fungal sepsis in neonates, and the use of immunoglobulin in managing neonatal dengue fever with severe thrombocytopenia. He has presented various national and state conference and attended many work shops. He is BNRP trainer and obesever faculty in Advanced NRP program. He is coordinating regular webinar series (""IAN KNOWLEDGE series"") under Indian Academy of Neonatology forum. Most DM/DrNB neonatology residents and qualified neonatologists all over India are participating in this webinar series.
