Dr. Shafiei completed his medical training in the USA. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He worked as a consultant electrophysiologist in the state of Tennessee, USA prior to joining Mediclinic hospital. He has several years of experience and provides comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the field of cardiology and electrophysiology. He does both inpatient and outpatient consultations and performs all relevant procedures which include catheter ablations of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, pacemaker implantation for patients with slow heart rate and ICD implantation for primary and secondary preventions of sudden cardiac death and cardiac resynchronization therapy. He also performs lead extraction as part of overall lead management. Management of hereditary cardiac arrhythmias and medical as well as procedural managements related to stroke prevention in patient with atrial fibrillation.
