Dr Mohamed Shaaban has been working as Associate Professor and consultant of Pulmonary
Medicine at Faculty of medicine, Cairo University (Kasr Al Ainy University Hospital, the most famous school of Medicine in Egypt and Middle East), Egypt till now and he worked previously as pulmonology consultant at Saudi German Hospital Sharjah, UAE for 2 years prior to joining NMC. He was awarded his Master degree in pulmonary medicine at Cairo University, Egypt in November 2014 and MD degree in pulmonary medicine, Cairo university, Egypt in November 2018. In addition, he has European Diploma in adult respiratory medicine and he is ERS HERMES diplomate.
He has started his career at the field of pulmonology since 2011 when he started his residency program of Pulmonary Medicine for 3 years at Cairo University Hospitals, Egypt (kasr Al Ainy University Hospital) then he has upgraded his both clinical and academic position until he obtained his title of Pulmonology Consultant and Associate professor at faculty of Medicine (Kasr Al Ainy University Hospital), Cairo University, Egypt. Dr Shaaban has been expert interventional pulmonology (Flexible bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy), pleural diseases and ultrasound guided pleural aspiration and insertion of pig tail, pulmonary hypertension with performance of Swan Ganz catheterization, interstitial lung diseases, respiratory critical care, airway diseases as bronchial asthma and COPD and pulmonary infections.
Dr Shaaban has also extensive experience in teaching medical students at Faculty of Medicine,
Cairo University and he performed clinical researches with 11 publications in international journals.
Dr Shaaban is an active member in both interstitial lung diseases and pulmonary vascular
research units at Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt and a member of European
Respiratory Society and Egyptian Society of Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis.
