Ms. Eman Abushabab is a Behaviour Analyst working at the Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Department of Medcare Medical Centre – Jumeirah. She completed her BSc in Public Heath from the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh followed by a Master’s degree in Behaviour Analysis Practices from Florida Institute of Technology, USA. She is a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and has a Qualified Behaviour Analyst (QBA) certification from the international board QABA.
Ms. Abushabab commenced her career as a Public Health Communication Officer – USAID with SPRING in Bangladesh. She then moved to the UAE to work with Sulukeyat as a Behavioural Therapist, using Applied Behavioural Analysis with special needs children, especially kids with Autism. Subsequently, she worked as a Special Education Teacher, Coordinator and Behaviour Specialist with Widad Center for Disability and Child Development, UAE. She spent some time at the Dubai Autism Center as a Behaviour Specialist, then a Community Awareness Manager and a Board-certified Behaviour Analyst. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in designing and implementing behaviour intervention plans, tailored to each person’s unique needs. She believes in a person-centred approach, collaborating closely with families, educators, and caregivers.
With a commitment to applying behaviour analysis principles in real-world settings, Ms. Abushabab has worked with diverse populations, including children with autism, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those seeking to overcome behavioural challenges. She conducts assessments that include PFA-IISCA, VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLS, AIM-ACT, EFL and PEAK-PCA. She also performs parental coaching, training and supervision (ABAT/QASP-S/QBA candidates; paraprofessionals) and mentoring (QASP-S/QBAs). She has done workshops like an introduction to ABA, Autism core knowledge, ABAT, BST training, functions of behaviour, severe problem behaviour, sleep problems, toilet training, classroom management and developmental milestones & red flags. She has successfully addressed behaviour reduction and regulation, skills acquisition, daily living skills, self-care skills, social skills, communication skills and academic performance and created Behavioural Assessments, Behaviour Intervention Plans and Crisis Intervention and Management.
In addition to her clinical work, Ms. Abushabab is a passionate advocate for spreading awareness about the benefits of behaviour analysis. She has conducted workshops, training sessions, and public talks to educate communities about evidence-based interventions and empowered others to implement behaviour change strategies effectively. She speaks Arabic and English.
