Dr. Shadid achieved his Master's degree from Leiden University in the Netherlands in 1993 and has been registered in the Netherlands as a general surgeon since 2001. He undertook a research fellowship at Oxford University, United Kingdom from 1993-1994. He has been working as a consultant general surgeon in the UAE's private sector since 2009. He is a member of the Royal Dutch Medical Association, Dutch Society of Surgery, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and European Society for Surgical Oncology.
