Dr. Walaa Yusif is a Geriatric Specialist working at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. She completed her MBBCh from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She then did her MSc as well as MD in Geriatric Medicine from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), UK, the Emirates Geriatrics Society and the British Geriatrics Society.

During the nascency of her career, Dr. Yusif served as a house officer at Ain Shams University Hospital and later joined the Residency Program in the Geriatric Department at the same Hospital.  She also worked as a Specialist in many JCI-accredited hospitals like Wadi El Neel and the International Medical Center. She also spent some time as an Assistant Lecturer and then Lecturer of Geriatric Medicine at the Ain Shams University Hospital. She is interested in research and has published research papers in both national and international journals.

Dr. Yusif’s expertise encompasses an extensive range of geriatric conditions from managing multiple comorbidities to providing preventive care including vaccination counselling and screening programs for senior citizens. She treats diabetes mellitus, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, cognitive impairment including delirium and all types of dementia, osteoporosis, falls and a range of movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson's Plus syndrome. She has proficiently treated cognitive impairment including all types of dementia, osteoporosis and fracture prevention, frailty and sarcopenia, mood disorders including depression and anxiety and deals efficiently with Polypharmacy.

She speaks Arabic and English.
