Dr. Zakir is an esteemed medical professional serving as the Regional Medical Director for Dubai and a dedicated Consultant Colorectal Surgeon. His expertise lies in the fields of Colorectal cancer, Proctology, and Inflammatory Bowel disease, where he consistently demonstrates exceptional skill and dedication to patient care.

Dr. Zakir previously held the position of Chief of Staff and Consultant Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, since 2018. Prior to relocating to the UAE, he served as a Consultant at United Lincolnshire NHS Trust, following higher surgical training and earning CCT from Newcastle deanery, along with Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh.

He completed a prestigious robotic surgery fellowship at the University of Hong Kong and obtained a master’s degree in health research from the University of Leeds. He was a lead investigator for clinical trials, and has published in renowned journals such as The Lancet,

In addition to his clinical and research pursuits, Dr. Zakir holds key leadership roles within the medical community. He serves as the Vice President of the Emirates Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery at Mohamed Bin Rashid University of Health Sciences, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of medical professionals.
