Dr. Mohamed Shafiq Ummathoor completed his MBBS in 2000 from P.S.G. Institute of Medical Sciences Coimbatore, India. He has taken his MD Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases from the prestigious Madras Medical College in 2007 and DM Pulmonary and Critical Care from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences Kochi in 2014. Has also done a Fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology at Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, India. During this fellowship he had training in various bronchoscopy procedures including Rigid Bronchoscopy and Thoracoscopy. Prior to joining to NMC Speciality Hospital Al Ain, Dr. Mohamed Shafiq had worked at Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi India in 2014 and has moved to the UAE in 2016 and worked with private and government hospitals. He has 15 years of experience in the field of pulmonology. His areas of interest are in lung diseases like Asthma, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Tuberculosis, Interstitial Lung Disease and Lung Cancer and has a special interest in Pleural Diseases and Sleep Disorders.
